5 Fandom Friday: Holiday Traditions (and Peanut Butter Cookie recipe)
Hey Epic Geeks,
I’m back for another 5 Fandom Friday. 5 Fandom Friday is officially back for December! You can find all of the prompts and join in yourself on The Nerdy Girlie’s 5FF December Prompts Post! This weeks post is five Christmas traditions.
The Night Before Christmas
Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house … was my family crowding together reading a book, often by memory after yeas of tradition.
Every year, we read The Night Before Christmas. When I moved away from home, we continued the tradition with a 3-way call with my sister. (:
It used to be chocolate chip cookies … but since being with Zach, he’s more partial to Peanut Butter Cookies … and they’re much easier.

Christmas Eve Present
I don’t know when this began … however, ever year, we started opening one present on Christmas Eve. This was especially exciting as a kid because it was before Santa arrived and just made the excitement grow even more. It’s still exciting as an adult.
As you see above, Christmas Eve we get to open one present. Every year, you also get a new pair of pajamas … that was usually the present you were allowed to open. I continue that tradition now. Pajama pants are definitely the best.
This is a tradition I started with Zach. I always said that I wanted to buy a new ornament with my husband every year and grow our collection that way. I started that with Zach the first year we were together just because I knew. Well, now we’re getting married, so I guess I was right. We now get a brand new ornament with it’s own meaning behind each one. Eventually we’ll start forgetting which year is which, I’m sure. Maybe I should start a Christmas diary/ornament log!
What are your Christmas traditions? Do any of ours match? Let me know in the comments below!
In the meantime, keep calm and stay epic,
