Songs That Remind You Of TV Shows/Movies | 5 Fandom Friday

Hey Epic Geeks,

I’ve been a bit out of my 5 Fandom Friday game but here I am, jumping back in! This week is all about music and songs that remind you of specific shows, episodes, or movies. Ironically, the other day, Zach and I were just discussing this because we finally watched The Fate of the Furious. These songs are in no specific order.

I’ll start off with See You Again by Wiz Khalifa ft Charlie Puth. This song is so sad. At the end of Fast and Furious 7, they played this song and dedicated it to Paul Walker. I cannot believe Paul passed almost four years ago. I will admit, I’ve played this song on repeat many times while at work, especially after marathoning The Fast and Furious movies.

I actually have two songs that will, now, forever take my mind to Supernatural. Fandoms take over your life, I swear.

First, is Carry On My Wayward Son by Kansas. Any Supernatural fan knows that this is the season song.

The next one is The Eye of the Tiger by Survivor due to Jensen Ackles behind the scenes/bloopers. For your plea

sure, I’ll link that video here rather than just the song. Enjoy. To be fair, this song also reminds me of Rocky … but this video is hilarious and is usually the first thought.

Over the years, my mother has made me watch many movies. I am very thankful for it even though songs like Don’t You (Forget About Me) by Simple Minds remind me of movies such as The Breakfast Club. If you haven’t, please go watch The Breakfast Club. This is the song in the final scene. (:

My last song is actually completely unrelated to the actual show. The song Kryptonite by 3 Doors Down always reminds me of Naruto. When I was really young, Naruto was one of my first animes. I was really new to YouTube and I learned about AMVs … however, I didn’t realize until much later that AMV stood for Anime Music Video, meaning fan made. My introduction to Kryptonite was an Anime Music Video of Naruto and it was pretty good. No worries though, a year or so later I watched the real music video, but I still get to look back and chuckle at myself.

I love talking about music and I watch way too many shows with my lover butt. Our list is ever growing.

Three questions for you

1. What song always reminds you of a TV show/movie?

2. What is your favorite TV show that is currently airing? (If you don’t use cable, choose a Netflix, Hulu, etc. show)

3. What song have you been playing on repeat lately?

In the meantime, keep calm and stay epic,

Kayla
